I met Tatum in March of 2021 and it was immediately clear that we would be good friends. We often found ourselves in nature, and he never hesitated to answer my obscure spur-of-the-moment questions. My favorite response was to a question I asked the day we met: ‘You think there are any critters under that rock?’ to which he responded: ‘Let’s find out’.
The rock in question must have been 10x our combined weight and half-buried in the sand behind Gogo’s house. Still, he pulled on one end whilst I pushed on the other until our hands turned red. We never did find out what was under that rock. Love and miss you, Tatum.
